Meet Debbie
I believe every woman deserves to have beauty, quality and style in her life.
Born and raised in Indianapolis, I have been making jewelry my entire life. It all started around age 11 with my first necklace created out of buckeyes! Our neighborhood was filled with these beautiful trees, and I loved collecting the buckeyes, along with interesting rocks and stones.
A passion for all things fashion and style led me to cosmetology school, and a 35-year career as a hair color specialist and salon owner. While running my salon business, I continued to make jewelry for myself and friends using glass and resin beads, and whatever else I could find. In 1999 I took a metalsmith class and discovered resources for the finest metals, gemstone beads, and pearls that I use in my collections today.
Creating one of a kind necklaces for myself led to a salon client purchasing a piece off my neck in the year 2000. I never intended to have a jewelry business, but Debbie Mikulla Jewelry was born. I started hosting trunk shows at local department stores, boutiques, and artisan events.
Using jewelry to adorn ourselves has been practiced for thousands of years, and I am truly blessed to help women express themselves and add a bit of glamour to their lives with my one of a kind jewelry.
